Little Engines 4-6-2 Pacific built as the Southern Pacific P4 on which the LE plans were based. The builder of the chassis is not known, but all of the finish to complete this locomotive was performed by Bob Hornsby. The boiler and the chassis were newly built and unfired in 2010 when purchased. The locomotive has been stored at room temperature indoors since then. Features include aluminum (not steel) Vanderbilt tender, coal firing, vacuum brakes on tender and plumbed to train, super reliable SuperScale Econony injector, steam driven water pump, axle pump, steam brakes on locomotive, automatic cylinder drain cocks, very nice four chime whistle, new stainless steel grates in 2019, battery powered headlight, marker lights, cab lights (battery compartment in tender). All of the beautiful detailing for this accurate P4 has been done by Bob Hornsby, and there are many details to compliment the locomotive.

The locomotive has been operated a few times a year for the past ten years, and always stored clean and dry, again thanks to Bob. These LE Pacifics have large grates, are free steaming, and are very forgiving to operate. Other than the regular maintenance and few loose bolts we have enjoyed trouble free running over the past years.
