I have six diesel style locomotives are gear driven and painted for the Union Pacific railroad. To the best of my experience they are fully operational but have been unused for about 10 years.  

* I have 25 vintage freight cars mostly from the very popular brand Athern, some fully assembled and some still in "kit" form. There are two passenger cars in the collection.
* I also have 18 track switches, most in original packaging from the Atlas brand
* The locomotives have a current on line average value of $40 each total of $240
* The freight cars have a current on line average value $19 each total of $570
* The track switches have a current on line average value of $20 each total of $360

Estimated retail value of $1,200  I am offering these items at a third of their value, $400.

Why I'm selling:  

I've had a lifelong interest in trains, sparked early on through family connections to the railroad industry. Travel and exploration played a major part in deepening that passion.

I started collecting and building layouts in my teens and eventually put together a large setup that I worked on for many years. It was a real labor of love and a central hobby throughout much of my life.

Over time, advancements in control technology made it harder to keep up — requiring significant investment to upgrade older locomotives. As the prospect of relocating grew more likely, the layout was taken down and the pieces stored away.

Before moving west, I donated or sold much of the equipment, though a few boxes made the trip with me. Unfortunately, space limitations and other considerations meant the layout never saw daylight again. With time, circumstances changed, and the opportunity to return to model railroading faded.

The collection I still have includes a mix of ready-to-run locomotives and freight cars, along with several kits that never got built — a quiet testament to a passion that once ran full steam.
