1953 Pennsylvania Rail Road, Union Station, Wash. D.C. This train crashed into the station at 35 m.p.h. due to brake failure, caused by human error. No lives were lost. 9 original photos by Tenschert Studio, Wash. D.C. 8 photos show the damage to the train and station. 1 photo is of the air brake valve that was left closed which caused the failure of the brakes.
These are incredible images showing the massive damage caused by the accident.
Tenschert Studio was often used to photograph government officials, functions, calamaties and crime scenes. Each photo measures 8"x10" and is marked by Tenschert.
